BANDS BEACONS AND BEES!!
Today was a lot of fun, we went to Walsall’s Annual Music Festival, Bands on the Beacon.
Tired from camping Shennanigans, and with a poor weather outlook it looked like we might just stay indoors. Somehow we managed to get our togs on and venture forth! We were pleasantly surprised by the Sun popping out and arriving a festival in full swing! Oh and did I mention Nashe got to hang out with the Sherlocks who gave him his first set of Drumsticks!! Legends. check out their music here http://thesherlocksmusic.co.uk/
30 Days Wild Day 26-27: First Camp Ever!!
Two little Toddlers had their first ever camping experience in the back garden this weekend. One loved it, the other didn’t much rate the darkness… but suffice to say fun ensued. Great to have the grandparents pitching in too ( pun intended)

30 Days Wild – Off with our Shoes
30 Days Wild Day 19: Deers Leap
Today we went for a little excursion to Deers Leap Wood. One word to describe it would be jungle -istic. We made a mobile, climbed on logs and squeezed through the undergrowth. This site is one that is still very much a work in progress but well worth visiting for the mellifluous birdsong alone!!
30 Days Wild Day 18: Speed Art
`
Decided to try a new challenge for the 30 day challenge. A bit of art. I thought to try to spell the word wild out of sundry creatures on the iPad. Thanks to my little family for their help with colouring.

30 Days Wild : Day 16 Reading in the Wild
Today was a challenge, hayfever was overpowering itchy eyes, sniffles, sneezing, lethargy, ear irritations and more. Aaaaargh!! Still managed to get down to our local canal for a short spell. We hopped over a stile and sat down to read awhile when a farmer and his wife set upon us! They thought we were teenagers gathering to enjoy some weed. We used the opportunity to preach about the Challenge. One is still feeling pretty ill, so will sign of now.
30 Days Wild Day 15: Leaf Rubbing
I must admit today was a bit of a random one. Having been away working the whole day I was beat. Was feeling a bit random today, can you tell? Nashe came up with his own game where he lined a gang of leaves together and then went on to race them!! he called it leaf racing, what an imaginative little mind.

30 Days Wild Day 9: In the BOG!
Today we visited one of our local Nature Reserves. Moseley Bog and Joy’s Wood. It is said to have inspired Tolkein in his imagining of the battles in the Lord of the Rings!! It was so lush and green and all the while just a stones throw away! who knew. We simply traipsed about and enjoyed the wildness of it all and then we made some leaf crowns!
30 Days Wild Day 8: Making Butter!

30 Days Wild Day 4: On my jack jones
Today was a quick one. Was away from my little family with work in the Edgbaston region and had to cheekily grab a few moments for todays post as I am determined to be consistent! (Tangent alert!)
Did you know that according to UK stats boys perform better in exam situations than they do at coursework. Girls vice versa.
I say that to say if I become sporadic in the posting of content at any point, its really not my fault, I’m just a boy…
30 Days Wild Day 3: Mini Beasts
Today we got a bit carried away. The job was to find bugs but we were distracted by cheeky squirrels ducks swans geese, and ice-cream. Weather was great out in Merry ol’ Edgbaston.
30 Days Wild Day 2: Dens!!

3O DAYS WILD CHALLENGE!

So my little family have signed up to the Wildlife Trust’s challenge! The idea is to do something nature-oriented every day in June.
Admittedly I am quite the city boy, but I am really psyched! I love being out in nature & spending some quality time with Sarah, Nashe and Zori is always ace.
Growing up I remember looking wistfully out the window. (always during math class) Wishing badly to get out on the rugby pitch to play. Years later, living in London, it was crushing to see not a blade of grass in sight at our local primary school. A small concrete playground to rough and tumble in made me cringe. So I’m always game when it comes to getting more nature in our lives!
I plan to video as much of our experience as I can. here’s something I put together on my iPhone in preparation. enjoy!
